Review of Admission Arrangements as a Result of Alteration to Denominational Secondary School catchment areas

West Lothian Council Education Executive agreed the proposal on 12 March 2024.

Proposal

West Lothian Council's Education Executive at its meeting on 5th September 2023, authorised Education Services to commence statutory consultation on the proposal to: Review of admission arrangements as a result of alteration to the denominational secondary school catchment areas of St Margaret's Academy and St Kentigern's Academy.


Statutory Consultation

In terms of the Schools (Consultation)(Scotland) Act 2010 (the Act), any proposed changes to a school estate in this case creation of a new education establishment and review of admission arrangements arising from school catchment area variations, requires Statutory Public Consultation.

The Consultation involves the parents/carers/children and staff of St Mary's Polbeth, St Margaret's Academy and St Kentigern's Academy as well as all other key stakeholders associated with the schools and statutory consultees as detailed in Schedule 2 of the Act.

Consultation Period

The public consultation period relating to the proposal ran from Monday 17th October until Friday 1st December 2023.

A public meeting to discuss the consultation document was held on:  Monday 20th November 2023, at 7pm Venue: St Mary's (Polbeth) Primary School, 10 Polbeth Road, EH55 8SR
