As a boy of 16 in 1989 when the Queen and Prince Philip came to Linlithgow

I was a member of the Army cadets who were on the kirk brae to St Michael's church

I was Troop no 25 and was asked to be company colour to the lads.

Her Majesty stopped and said your Troop look really smart thankyou for being here

I was also a member of the boys brigade in 1983 when we had the 100 years party at Holyrood palace. I was guard of honour around the palace grounds

The Queen was a lovely person and I'd like to give my thoughts and prayers to King Charles and all the Royal Family
