Community Renewal Fund

The UK Government has recently launched the Community Renewal Fund, which has been designed to support communities and to pilot a new and flexible approach to administering funding ahead of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The fund seeks to support projects that can deliver across one or more of the following themes;

  • Investment in skills
  • Investment for local business
  • Investment in communities and place
  • Supporting people into employment

This is a one year revenue funding programme and projects must be deliverable and financially complete by 31 March 2022.  Projects should ideally have a minimum planned expenditure of £500,000. The maximum value of the bids identified by the Council must come no more than £3m. Projects are required to align with long-term strategic plans for local growth, target people most in need and support community renewal.
