Self-Isolation Support Grant

The Scottish Government has committed to providing a grant of £500 to individuals who are working and in receipt of low income if they will lose earnings as a result of being required to self-isolate. The purpose of the grant is to financially support individuals to help them comply with the Test & Protect Service's requirement to self-isolate for 10-days to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Important changes to the Self-Isolation Grant scheme from 13 October 2021

From 13 October 2021, you will not be entitled to a Self-Isolation Grant if you are a close contact of someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 if you are fully vaccinated (2 vaccinations) and the date of your second vaccine was more than 14 days from the date your self-isolation period starts.  This will be the date you are notified by the Test and Protect Service to self-isolate.

You will not qualify for a grant if you are caring for someone who has been asked to self-isolate because they are a close contact if they are fully vaccinated.  If you are caring for a child under the age of 16, they will be considered fully vaccinated if they have received one vaccine.  If you are caring for someone over the age of 16, they will be considered fully vaccinated if they received their second vaccine more than 14 days prior to the date they are asked to self-isolate by Test and Protect.
