Persons with severe mental health difficulties
You may be entitled to a discount if an adult member of the household has severe mental health difficulties.
To qualify the person must
- have a severe impairment of intelligence and social functioning that appears to be permanent, and
- is entitled to one of the following benefits;
- attendance allowance
- constant attendance allowance
- care component (at the high or middle rate) of disability living allowance
- daily living component of personal independence payment
- employment and support allowance
- incapacity benefit
- income support (which includes the disability premium)
- increased rate of disablement pension where constant attendance is needed
- severe disablement allowance
- unemployability supplement or allowance
- universal credit.
Note: A registered medical practitioner must certify their condition.
