Graffiti is probably the biggest form of vandalism which we have to deal with. Unsightly graffiti and fly posting can have a number of negative effects on a community.
As well as costing a lot of money to remove, they can make streets and other public places look neglected and attract further anti-social behaviour and vandalism. Graffiti classed as being offensive e.g. racially or sexually explicit will be covered within one working day of it being reported.
Once notified, we aim to remove racist or offensive graffiti from council property within 1 working day.
All other types of graffiti and flyposting on council property will be removed as quickly as possible, normally within 3 working days.
If the graffiti is on private property then it is the owners responsibility to remove it.
